Setting a personal mission

It’s easy to fall in to a cycle of doing and forgetting why you do it. I had a glimpse the other day that I too was finding myself falling in to a position that wasn’t aligned with the vision I had for my impactful future. So I took a moment to check in with myself and of course, build a slide deck to lay out what that personal vision looked like.

While there might not be much of a punchline in this video, I found myself gravitating towards a mission of improving sustainability, equality and quality of life around the world, in our community and in the home. The strategic focus here was on decarbonisation of our energy system to achieve those goals as a way to best align my skills and the opportunities within my sphere of influence. Currently, I find myself building a delivery engine at Synergy to set the business up to deliver a number of decarbonising initiatives such as the Virtual Power Plant for Schools project.

For now, I like the work I do but need to continue challenging the way I prioritise and consider new opportunities and roles in the workplace.
